1. Darren McFadden (RB), Raiders
Some folks in Oakland believe they have found the next Bo Jackson, with McFadden's ability to make plays catching the ball as well as running it. Run DMC should get more opportunities than anyone in this rookie class.
2. Felix Jones (RB), Cowboys
The plan right now is to play Marion Barber on first and second down. Judging from Jones' first preseason game, he will get plenty of opportunities to make big plays on passing downs in a wide-open offense with plenty of weapons around him.
3. Matt Ryan (QB), Falcons
Looks like the real deal to me. Shows excellent poise in the pocket, has a strong arm and a classroom work ethic compared to that of Peyton Manning. Ryan should be the starting QB for the "Dirty Birds" on opening day.
4. Matt Forte (RB), Bears
Former Bears WR Muhsin Muhammad said Chicago is "where receivers go to die." While their current receivers are resting in peace, Forte will be the team's only means of getting the ball in the end zone.
5. DeSean Jackson (WR), Eagles
His speed and ability to run after the catch give QB Donovan McNabb his first big-play threat at receiver since T.O. Jackson is not the biggest guy on the field (5-10, 175 lbs.), but that will work to his advantage on kick returns.

Top 5 Running Backs
(Of my era, 1980-present)
1. Barry Sanders, Lions
Easily could have been the NFL’s all-time leading rusher and by far the most feared back of his time.
2. Walter Payton, Bears
“Sweetness” could run around you or through you. Either way the most efficient back ever.
3. Emmitt Smith, Cowboys
NFL’s all-time leading rusher. Not real big or real fast but a real headache for opposing defenses.
4. Tony Dorsett, Cowboys
The sole reason for me wanting to play running back. I even wore No. 33 all through little league.
5. Earl Campbell, Oilers
Pioneered the era of power running backs. Showed that it’s definitely better to give a devastating blow than to receive one.
Top 5 RBs Playing Today
1. Adrian Peterson, Vikings
I know he has only played one season, but WOW!!! More raw talent than any back I have ever seen.
2. LaDainian Tomlinson, Chargers
On pace to break Emmitt Smith’s record for yardage. Lock for the Hall of Fame.
3. Brian Westbrook, Eagles
The only threat on the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense last season. Opposing defenses knew this and still couldn’t figure out a way to stop him.
4. Fred Taylor, Jaguars
The 11th-year veteran averaged 5.4 yards per carry last year en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance.
5. Ronnie Brown, Dolphins
Clearly on his way to elite status last year before a torn ACL shortened his season.

Bill Walsh disciple made three Super Bowl appearances in a 10-year span.
5. TonyDungy, Buccaneers, Colts
First black head coach to win a Super Bowl—with a shout out to LovieSmith.

Would be No. 1 if it weren’t for “Spygate.”
